Sean “Diddy” Combs’ attorneys are demanding names of anonymous accusers

In new lawsuits, lawyers for Sean “Diddy” Combs demanded that the FBI identify all alleged victims filing sexual abuse claims against the rapper.

The motion filed on October 15 requests that the court order the government to identify her alleged victims so Combs can prepare for trial. The letter said the case was “unique” because of the number of people filing claims against the rapper “due to his celebrity status, wealth and publicity from his previously settled lawsuit.”

“This has had a profound ripple effect, resulting in a flood of allegations from unidentified complainants, ranging from false to downright absurd,” the lawyers wrote.

The motion follows Houston attorney Tony Buzbee filing the first batch of lawsuits from the pool of 120 complainants he represents – all of whom accuse Combs of rape, sexual assault and violence. Combs’ attorneys called the announcement of the pending lawsuits a publicity stunt and said the swirling allegations created a “hysterical media circus.”

The lawyers said that without the identities of the accusers, there is no clarity from the government about the allegations they are relying on in the indictment. They also said the identity of the accusers is necessary to prepare Combs’ defense while preserving his right to a fair trial.

The indictment

On Monday September 16th the 54-year-old artist/mogul was arrested in Manhattan by federal authorities. His indictment was revealed the next morning, charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and engaging in interstate transportation for the purpose of prostitution were revealed. The allegations against Combs include sexual abuse, physical abuse, bribery and various drug offenses.

The most striking claims come from him so-called ‘freak off’ sex partieswhere prosecutors allege women and men were drugged and forced to perform sex acts at Combs’ pleasure. He was also accused of using video footage to blackmail the victims into compliance.

Combs’ arrest came about six months after federal authorities raided his two homes in Los Angeles and Miami in March 2024, and four months after damning video footage leaked showing his ex-girlfriend and Bad Boy Records signee brutally abused. Cassandra ‘Cassie’ Ventura at a hotel in 2016.

In November 2023, Combs was sued by Ventura in a civil suit accusing him of sex trafficking, human trafficking, sexual assault, sexual assault and other charges. Combs quickly settled the case within 24 hours, but lawsuits from other employees quickly followed in the months that followed.

Although many of the lawsuits since 2023 have been civil, Combs faces criminal charges in this federal case. He has pleaded not guilty and was denied bail. He will appear in court in May 2025.
