Scottish Premiership clubs to compete in Monday’s European play-off draw

Rangers, Hearts, Kilmarnock and St Mirren will play in the European play-offs on Monday.

Scottish Premier League runners-up Dynamo Kiev or Rangers are among the seeded players in the draw for the Champions League play-offs.

The Ukrainian team or Philippe Clement’s team will play against the winner of the Slavia Prague – Union Saint-Gilloise match or the Salzburg – FC Twente match.

Dynamo and Rangers meet in Poland on Tuesday night for the first leg of their third qualifier, where Dynamo are temporarily playing. Rangers’ home game is the following Tuesday at Hampden, with Ibrox currently unavailable due to renovations.

If either team loses the third qualifying round or the play-offs, they will progress to the new competition phase of the Europa League.

Hearts, third in last season’s Premiership, are unseeded in the third group of ties in the Europa League play-off draw. All other competitors come from the third qualifying round, which begins on Thursday.

Potential eventual opponents include Cercle Brugge, who knocked out Kilmarnock last week, and Braga from Portugal. Should Hearts lose, they will progress to the Conference League group stage.

Kilmarnock or Tromso will go into the first group of the Conference League play-off round, with St Mirren or Brann in group two. Frances’ Lens are potential opponents for Killie, while St Mirren could face Italian side Fiorentina.
