Scarlett Johansson Talks Time Apart From Husband Colin Jost

Scarlett Johansson has no sympathy for her husband Colin Jost over his upcoming work project.

While the comedian is on a break from his usual post as Weekend Update co-host on Saturday Night LiveIt’s not exactly summer vacation for him, as he prepares to become a different kind of presenter for NBC during the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris.

Yet the Fly me to the moon The actress isn’t convinced the gig isn’t a vacation disguised as a job.

To cover the surfing portion of the Olympic Games, it is the second time that this category has been included in the Summer Games, Colin will fly to Teahupo’o, Tahiti, where the matches will take place from July 27.

Scarlett, speaking to host Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show on Monday, July 8, jokingly wondered what her husband’s new role entailed: “Even I’m like, ‘How did you get this job?’ I just want to know.”

She further shared, “When they announced the Olympics in Paris, he immediately found out the surfing competition was in Tahiti, which was so cool,” noting: “He loves surfing, we have a place in Montauk, he’s always surfing.”

“Somehow the dream came true and now he’s going to Tahiti for two weeks,” she continued, before joking, “I think, ‘Poor you.’”

She continued: “He was like, ‘Poor me, I’m going to be everywhere,'” adding: “I was like, ‘Do you do that? I guess if you can drink a piña colada on the radio and work, that’s not technically work.”

Scarlett and Colin have been married for four years

In a press release from NBC last month, Colin said, “I’m honored to watch the best surfers in the world compete on one of the toughest waves imaginable, and to showcase Tahiti’s rich surfing history.”

They started dating shortly after she hosted SNL in 2017

Molly Salomon, Executive producer and president of NBC Olympic Productions also said: “While the setting is a little different than the Weekend Update desk in Studio 8H, Colin, an avid surfer, will use his unique talent to report on the competition, the athletes and the beautiful surroundings at one of the most breathtaking Olympic venues ever.”

Scarlett and Colin first sparked romance rumors in 2017 after SNL’s season 42 finale party in May, two months after she hosted the show for the fifth time. The couple quietly married in 2020, and in August 2021, she surprised fans with the news that they had welcomed their first child together, Cosmo. She is also mother to daughter Rose, who turns 10 in August, whom she shares with her ex-husband Romain Dauriac.
