Saudi Arabia’s Religious Affairs Presidency Launches Umrah Season Plan for 1446 AH

Mecca: The Presidency of Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched the Umrah season plan for 1446 AH, the largest of its kind in the history of the presidency, the Saudi Press Agency (SAP) reported.

According to the SPA, the plan aims to enrich the experience of visitors, Umrah practitioners and pilgrims and create a devotional atmosphere through hundreds of religious and scientific steps and programmes during the Umrah season, involving thousands of volunteers at the Two Holy Mosques.

The President of Religious Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sudais, during the launch of the plan at his office, noted that the Umrah season plan was inaugurated with the start of the new Hijri year 1446 AH. He stressed that the plan aims to strengthen the strengths of the Umrah season, elevate the concept of serving and caring for Umrah performers as a central theme, enhance integrative roles with the Umrah system and achieve harmony with all government bodies and success partners, the SPA added.

Al-Sudais also pointed out that the operational plan for the Umrah period in the Two Holy Mosques covers 9 months, divided into three phases, ending at the end of Shaban 1446 AH, after which the Holy Ramadan plan for 1446 AH will begin.

He stated that the religious and guidance message of the Two Holy Mosques must be continuously conveyed, with the presidency preparing numerous lessons and scientific and guidance lectures delivered by leading scholars from the Council of Senior Scholars and teachers from the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque.

Al-Sudais said the presidency has focused on diversifying initiatives, programs and services in its 1446 AH Umrah season plan to achieve the highest level of comfort for visitors, making their rituals easier and smoother in a pious, healthy and spiritual atmosphere. The plan includes intensifying scientific and guidance classes, increasing Quranic lessons and religious awareness on the ground, launching enriching religious exhibitions and inaugurating the largest religious endowment program, the SPA reported. The presidency aims to leverage artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, digitalize programs and use e-applications in various sectors to serve visitors and communicate with them in global languages, facilitating their rituals and enriching their experience.
