Saquon Barkley totaled 132 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Philadelphia Eagles to a 34-29 victory over the Green Bay Packers in São Paulo, Brazil, on Friday night.

The former New York Giant signed a three-year, $37.75 million contract with the Eagles last March after six seasons with Big Blue. He was fantastic on Friday, rushing for 109 yards and two scores on 24 carries, while adding two catches for 23 yards and another touchdown.

Barkley put the Eagles on the board after catching a pass from Jalen Hurts out of the backfield for 18 yards to tie the score at 6-6.

In the second quarter, Barkley scored his first rushing touchdown for the Eagles, an 11-yarder to give Philadelphia a 13-12 lead.

The score continued to go back and forth, with Barkley ultimately scoring the deciding score: a two-yard touchdown for a 30-26 lead in the third quarter.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, among others, complimented Barkley on his performance.

OMG SAQUON SO DAMN FAST!!!!!!! SO GOOD MAN! @saquon

It’s only one game, but for Giants fans it’s obviously tough to watch the former face of the franchise play such a dominant role in his first appearance against the team’s archrival.

Big Blue ultimately let Barkley go as the team, which went 6-11 last year, looked to address other areas of the franchise this offseason, namely pass rusher (Brian Burns) and offensive line (i.e. Jon Runyan Jr., Jermaine Eluemunor). The Giants brought in ex-Buffalo Bill and Houston Texan Devin Singletary as their new RB1.

We’ll see how things turn out for New York soon, when the season kicks off Sunday at 1 p.m. ET against the Minnesota Vikings. But for now, watching Barkley in an Eagles uniform as he crushes the Packers may be a bitter pill to swallow for some.

Barkley and the Eagles next play the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, September 16. As for the Giants, Philadelphia and New York play on October 20 and January 5.
