Sander Berge: Fulham make offer of up to £25m for Burnley midfielder

Fulham have made a bid for Burnley midfielder Sander Berge worth £20million plus £5million in bonuses.

The Norway international would be Fulham’s fourth signing of the transfer window, following the arrivals of Emile Smith Rowe, Jorge Cuenca and Ryan Sessegnon.

Fulham are looking to add more options in midfield after Joao Palhinha signed for Bayern Munich in July.

The Cottagers have also attempted to sign Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen, with their latest bid of £25m plus £5m in add-ons proving to be lower than Palace’s valuation.

Berge, reportedly a target for Manchester United, has not played in Burnley’s first two games of the Championship season, with manager Scott Parker saying the reason was injury.

The 26-year-old played 37 games last season as the Clarets were relegated from the Premier League.

He scored his only Premier League goal of the season in Burnley’s 2–0 win at Craven Cottage in December.
