Ulster have confirmed the departure of Roddy Grant as Forwards Coach after five years with the province.

Ulster Rugby have announced that Grant will not join the squad for the 2024/25 season as preparations for the senior team begin on Monday.

“I’m incredibly proud of our work as forwards over the last five years. I feel like I’m leaving the group in a better position than when I arrived, with the guys having built up a really strong reputation as a forward pack,” said Grant

“I gave it my all and went all in. Thanks to all the players who gave it their all and went all in for me too.”

In Grant’s five years as coach in Belfast, Ulster have become known for their goalscoring team. The Botswana-born former professional player is responsible for developing a new generation of forwards through the province’s Player Pathway.

Head coach Richie Murphy said in the news: “Roddy has contributed so much to the club over the past five years and we would like to thank him for all his hard work, which will continue to support us as a team in the seasons ahead.

“Personally, I really enjoyed working together at the end of last season. Roddy is a coach who gives everything and I know how much it means to him to maintain the highest standards.

“On behalf of everyone at the club, I would like to wish Roddy every success for the future.”
