Rockford police arrest a 22-year-old on assault charges

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A month-long investigation into a reported sexual assault involving a minor leads to the arrest of a Rockford man.

Giovanni Ocasio, 22, is charged with five counts of sexual assault.

Rockford police say they received the report on September 17 and identified Ocasio as the suspect. Investigators say Ocasio and the victim knew each other.

Ocasio was arrested on October 18. His next court date is set for October 31.
