Robinho says goodbye to Braga after two years

Robinho has announced his departure from Sporting de Braga. The player gave an interview to the club’s media on Thursday, broadcast on Next Channel, in which he confirmed the end of the adventure.

“I arrived in 2022, almost 40 years old, which for many is already an advanced age, when the player practically begins to slow down and feels the weight of age even more. Thank God, I always challenged myself and never accepted my age. As long as I am healthy, energetic and have the will to train and win, this is my greatest motivation.”

The 41-year-old made 62 official appearances and 42 goals for Braga after five seasons at Benfica. The winger recalled the criticism he received when he left for Minho.

“When I left Benfica, many people said it was a decline, that leaving there would end my career. On the contrary, one of the places where my career was most appreciated was here at Sp. I had to prove to myself that I was a winner, we won the cup and we were able to win the Champions League and the Super Cup for next season,” assured the athlete of Brazilian and Russian nationality.

Despite his enviable CV, which includes a Champions League title, Robinho’s future is uncertain.
