RISING country star Max Jackson is on a journey to conquer Far North Queensland after announcing she will headline the Cairns Amateurs Ball, perform at the Mareeba Rodeo and join the Savannah in the Round line-up.

After a stellar performance at Savannah Sounds of the Reef, Australian country darling Max Jackson decided the Far North was the place to be and she is now preparing for three shows at FNQ in the second half of the year, starting with a promotional appearance in the Mareeba. Rodeo on July 13, headlined the 2024 Ladbrokes Cairns Amateurs Ball on September 13 and joined the Savannah in the Round line-up on October 12.

Ms Jackson told Cairns Local News she had fallen in love with Cairns and FNQ and was keen to perform at a high-end event such as the Cairns Amateurs Ball.

“I’m actually from a small town called Coonamble in country NSW, although I now live in Newcastle I’ve never been to Cairns before. Savannah Sounds on the Reef was my first visit ever, and it was the most incredible introduction to the region,” she said.

“It was a wonderful welcome and to be able to come back three more times over the rest of the year is so exciting and I can’t wait to be back in the sun.

“I’m really looking forward to being part of Amateurs this year. It’s a black tie event, so we’re ready to dress up in our own country way, but at the same time bring the relaxed and fun atmosphere and get everyone on the dance floor.

From humble beginnings and influenced by Australian country artists such as Lee Kernaghan and Gina Jeffreys, Ms Jackson has hit the ground running with number one hits such as Little More Country and winning the 2022 Toyota Star Maker and a Golden Guitar for Best New Talent on the Australian 2023 show. Country Music Awards, and she’s ready to take her music to the Far North.

“People who come to see me in Cairns will be listening to a lot of new music because I’m finishing recording my album, but basically my shows are all energetic and fun and hopefully people leave feeling happy and upbeat,” she said. .

“It’s a really exciting time for country music in Australia, people are really starting to connect with the genre so I encourage everyone to come because it’s going to be a great time with great people and great energy and the FNQ crowd is bringing the pleasure.”
