Richland A school bus involved in a crash, students are assessed by paramedics

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) – A Richland County School District One school bus was involved in a crash Monday morning, according to the Columbia Police Department (CPD).

Officials said the crash happened at the intersection of Garners Ferry and Veterans Road. CPD reported that the crash involved a car in addition to the school bus.

The driver of the car was taken to the hospital and the students on board the bus were assessed by paramedics, according to officials.

According to the district, six Meadowfield Elementary School students were on the bus at the time of the crash.

The district said no students were injured and that another bus took them to school.

No information has been released at this time regarding the cause of the crash.
