Residents advised to avoid certain LACo beaches due to bacteria

Amid rising temperatures likely to see people flock to the coastline, the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health has warned residents not to swim, surf or play in ocean water at nine ocean beaches due to high bacteria levels.

The department’s warning, issued on Friday, concerns:

— Santa Monica Canyon Creek at Will Rogers State Beach, near Will Rogers Tower 18, 350 feet up the coast from the creek;
