Reno Rodeo: Saturday Night Daysheet, performance 2

Night No. 2 in Reno and we’ll see some familiar faces in the rough stock, while it’ll be all new faces in the timed events. The morning slack has given us some of the best rodeos.

BAREBACK RIDING

RC Landingham set the bar last night with an 86.5. His horse tonight is a Rosser Rodeo bronc that Jayco Roper rode for 84.5 points in Reno last year.

STEERING WRESTLING

Gavin Soileau’s 5.3 ranks third in Round 1, while the average is led by Tucker Allen with a 9.2.

TEAM ROP

Brodi Jones and Arye Espenscheid are second in Round 1 with a 5.1, but they will have to speed up tonight as a 4.6 leads into Round 2.

SADDLE BRONC RIDING

Dawson Hay’s 87 leads the first round and his match tonight is Rosser Rodeo’s Oppenheimer Air. Rigging Smith recently covered the horse for 84.5 in the Veater Financial Bronc Match.

FASTENING CONSTRUCTION

The second round of the tie-down gets more exciting, with the winning time three seconds faster than Round 1. Shad Mayfield’s 17.6 out of two is what leads the average.

BREAKAWAY ROPING

Wyoming is well represented in Reno’s Performance 2 with Shiloh Napp and Shai Schaefer providing support in the box.

SOAP BOX RACE

Toria Madsen’s 17.76 took the lead in Round 1, but it’s Emma Charleston’s fast time of 17.46 that needs to be surpassed for a new Round 2 leader.

BULLS RIDING

Coy Pollmeier’s 82.5 is the only qualified ride on the board in bull riding and it’s a stacked selection of Vegas veterans tonight, which could mean a change in the standings.
