Renato Moicano vs. Benoit Saint Denis in the works for UFC Paris in September

Lightweights Benoit Saint Denis and Renato Moicano have agreed to meet during the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Paris, scheduled for September 28 at the Accor Arena.

Multiple people with knowledge of the promotion’s plans confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Friday, with both athletes verbally agreeing to the matchup. AG Fight initially reported the news.

Moicano travels into enemy territory as he seeks his fourth straight victory. The former featherweight scored impressive victories over Brad Riddell and Drew Dober before scoring a comeback victory to stop Jalin Turner at UFC 300.

Now he looks to take on one of the division’s top prospects as Saint Denis makes his first appearance since his stunning performance against Dustin Poirier at UFC 299.

Although he ultimately lost by knockout that night, Saint Denis still managed to increase his value through his performance. He gave the former interim lightweight champion everything Poirier had in UFC 299’s Fight of the Night.

The fight against Moicano gives Saint Denis a chance to return home after he scored a separate Fight of the Night bonus for his win over Thiago Moises at the previous UFC Paris event in 2023.

It is unclear at this time if the bout will headline the event. Since UFC Paris is scheduled for September, more fights will likely be announced in the coming weeks.
