Regardless of Beryl’s landing site, it’s not a good weekend to head to the Texas coast

  • – Category 4 Hurricane Beryl will weaken before making landfall as a Category 2 hurricane on the Yucatan Peninsula Thursday night/Friday morning

  • – Beryl will weaken and enter the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday. Once there, some re-strengthening is possible, along with a turn north toward Texas

  • – Still uncertainty as to where Beryl will make landfall Sunday through Monday. Anything from Northern Mexico to the Texas coast is possible Sunday through Monday

  • – Regardless of where the Texas coast makes landfall, the Texas coast will experience rain, high surf, rip currents and some coastal flooding Saturday night through Monday
