Rebecca Minkoff Reveals How Her Husband Reacted to Pregnancy Rumors: “I Just…”

Rebecca opened up Gavin Bellour’s husband answer to Bravo Headquarters, telling that he was someone who was in on the joke from the very beginning.

In season 15 of RHONY, Rebekah and Erin Lichy decided to have some fun with the rest of the ladies by spreading a false rumor that Rebecca was pregnant and didn’t know who the father was, while secretly watching the sensational story being passed from one person to another in a attempt the ‘leaky pigeon’, or the person most likely to spread the juicy gossip.

“We figured out that I’m pregnant and we don’t know who the father is just because it’s so ridiculous to spread that rumor, like you have to be a little cuckoo,” Rebecca told Bravo HQ.

What did Rebecca Minkoff’s husband think of the pregnancy joke?

The joke put Rebecca’s more than decade-long marriage in the spotlight — something she admitted she hadn’t necessarily fully thought through before coming up with the lie.

“I probably could have chosen a different joke,” she noted. “Thank God my husband has a sense of humor.”

According to Rebecca, she called her husband “right after” she and Erin came up with the plan and told him, “You just need to know what Page six is about me writing, so we have to have a plan.

He wasn’t the only one who told them the secret.

“I called my parents and my husband called his mother. That was kind of a circle of trust,” she said.

With the plan fully in place, Erin and Rebecca sat back and watched as the rumor began to spread. By the time they all gathered for an indoor game of dodgeball, the rumor mill was in full swing and Rebecca, already a mother of four, finally admitted that it had all been an elaborate hoax.

While I was talking to Bravo headquarters, housewife Ubah Hassan said she had initially been in shock and then overcome with relief when she realized it was just a prank and that Rebecca’s marriage was completely intact.

When the truth finally came out, Rebecca admitted she didn’t get the reaction from the cast she expected.

“No one laughed. You know, I’m sorry no one thought it was funny,” she told Bravo headquarters. “I mean, Erin and I laughed a lot, but I thought we were going to laugh even more.”

But when Ubah asked Rebecca if she wanted to do it all again, Rebecca didn’t hesitate to confirm that she would.

“Would you do that?” Ubah asked before clapping her hands. “I don’t regret this. That’s called a woman who is assertive.”

And what about the “leakiest pigeon” of the group? Well, Rebecca remained mum, but added that she felt the answer was obvious.

“I think it speaks for itself,” she said. “I think anyone can answer that question.”
