Randal Kolo Muani transfer problem for Manchester United

Manchester United are believed to be genuinely interested in the transfer of Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani, although he is expected to be unavailable in January. Caught offside understands.

PSG previously invested a lot of money in signing Kolo Muani, a total of no less than 95 million euros, while Man United values the France international at around 70 million euros as they are looking for reinforcements up front.

The Red Devils could certainly do with a more proven and experienced option up front after Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee’s problems at Old Trafford, so Kolo Muani could live up to expectations even if he hasn’t yet shown his best form in a PSG shirt.

However, the 25-year-old remains highly rated at his current club and sources have indicated that he is unlikely to be sold this winter, although the situation could be revisited next summer.

United have invested in the future by signing two young attackers in Hojlund and Zirkzee over the past two summers, so it may come as a bit of a surprise to see the club spend big on another striker.

Still, you have to wonder how much more time Hojlund in particular will get, as he hasn’t made much of an impact in Manchester for over a year now, so there could be a case for bringing in Kolo Muani as an upgrade.

At the same time, if PSG are reluctant to sell, this could potentially mean paying a lot of money to get them to change their minds, and that could be seen as a risk given that the former Eintracht Frankfurt man is currently not in the best shape.

MUFC fans may feel like there are better options to look for if they decide to make a change ahead of time.
