Rams WR Puka Nacua raises eyebrows when asked about the NFC West competition

Los Angeles Rams star Puka Nacua said he is learning new things in his second NFL season.

Nacua’s Rams compete in the highly competitive NFC West division, with the Seattle Seahawks, Arizona Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers. It’s one of the most talked about divisions in football, and Nacua jokingly admitted this week that he just found out he’s playing in the NFC West.

Puka, a rising Rams star, gave a dazzling response that had the media and fans chomping at the bit. Of course he can’t be serious.

“No, if I’m honest with you guys, someone told me we’re in the NFC West, so that’s good to know, I guess,” Nacua said Sunday, as told by NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Nacua and the Rams will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in primetime on Sunday night.

“Yeah, one day at a time is my mentality,” Nacua said of the Rams’ 5-5 season. “I feel like I say that to you a lot, but it’s about the game we have on Sunday or whatever day it is that week.”

Rams head coach Sean McVay threw cold water on Nacua’s claim about the whole NFC West discovery.

In third place, the Rams need to beat the Eagles to keep their season alive.

“No, he didn’t. He was fooling you,” McVay told reporters upon discovering the news shared by ESPN’s Lindsay Thiry. “You should give me context, I guess. Isn’t that nice? See, that’s why… be like Puka. Just focus on what you can control and… hey, if that’s the case, I love unconditionally from him You know what? In all seriousness, there is something beautiful in it.

“Let’s say that’s the case. I know this: That guy will show up when we play the (San Francisco 49ers) ‘Niners,’ the (Arizona) Cardinals and the (Seattle) Seahawks, and shoot if he thinks “We’re in the same division as the Eagles, so let’s compete against them.”
