Ralph Macchio on Why Cobra Kai Appeals to All Generations, Season 6 Part 1 Ending, Karate Kid 5, Hilary Swank Rumors, and More.

One thing we know for sure about the future of The karate child franchise is Ralph Macchio has at least one more adventure left in it once Netflix’s Cobra Kai ends in 2025 when season six, part three comes out with Sony’s untitled Karate kid 5 film opposite Jackie Chanthe star of the 2010 standalone film, comes out. With part one of Cobra Kai release, Macchio spoke with Entertainment tonight about the franchise’s generation, his thoughts on the final season and teased whether The Next Karate Kid (1994) star Hilary Swank will appear.

ET: What does this moment mean to you? I mean, look at these fans.

These are all young fans. You have 10-year-old kids and their families, four generations of support and fandom. It’s pretty unique. I’m trying to find new words, but unique, overwhelming, and ultimately grateful.

As Mr. Miyagi would say, “We are always learning,” so what would you take away from this experience on Cobra Kai?

Never say never. Be careful what you think you know, because if you put out the good, the good might come back, so here we are.

Maybe this is the end of the story, and then, boom! you go into the movie.

It just keeps going. It never ceases to amaze me how the fandom loves these characters and builds them generation after generation. I try to stay on the surfboard.

Is there anyone from The Karate Kid universe that hasn’t come out yet that you hope will come out at some point in the future?

I can’t name names, but there may be one, two or a few that have come out in a small capacity. I would like to see a larger capacity. How about that?

I continue to support Hilary Swank.

Who wouldn’t? That would be the only interesting bit.
