Pune News: Man in Pimpri-Chinchwad dies after being hit by a speeding car while firing fireworks – Pune News

A 35-year-old man died after he was hit by a speeding car in Pimpri-Chinchwad area of ​​Pune district while he was setting off firecrackers on the roadside.

The accident took place on November 30 and was captured on CCTV. The victim, identified as Soham Patel, was setting off firecrackers on the roadside on Diwali evening when a car hit him and fled.

Soham suffered serious injuries from the impact and died.

Even after 48 hours, the suspected driver has still not been caught. The Ravet police have filed a report against the unknown driver and are investigating the accident.

In a separate incident, five children were injured in Pune’s Sinhgad area after the lid of a drainage chamber exploded when fireworks were set off on it, police said.

Another death due to bursting of firecrackers was reported in Nagpur when a 25-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death by a teenager.

The victim, identified as Amol Waghmare, got into an argument with a teenager over fireworks on November 1. During the altercation, the teen attacked Waghmare with a knife and killed him, police said.
