Presenter expects club legend Erik ten Hag to replace Man United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag saw his future uncertain at the end of last season.

However, the club decided to have confidence in the Dutchman, despite holding talks with other managers in the summer.

The Red Devils have had a difficult start to the season after investing a lot of money in their squad during the summer transfer period.

Ten Hag received strong support from the club during the transfer window, as the Red Devils welcomed five new players to Old Trafford.

The Dutch coach was still unable to bring about any change in the team’s form in the league.

Questions have been asked about the Man United manager and what the future holds for him if he continues to fail to make a positive impact at the club.

Presenter Will Brazier has claimed that Man United assistant manager and club legend Ruud Van Nistelrooy could become the next manager to take charge of the club, and it could happen as early as the end of the season.

Brazier believes Van Nistelrooy could have a similar effect on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who arrived at the club in a difficult situation and still performed well.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy joined Man United this summer as assistant manager.

Brazier said on the That’s Football podcast:

“I think Ruud van Nistelrooy will be the manager of Manchester United at the end of the season. I think he will have that ‘super-duper’ bounce effect that we maybe saw with Ole (Gunnar Solskjaer). He has a bit more pedigree.”

Ten Hag managed to win two national cups for the Red Devils: the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024.

The real problem the club faced under the former Ajax manager was poor form in the Premier League and Champions League.

Erik ten Hag failed to inspire Man United

The Red Devils finished eighth in the league last season and were eliminated in the group stage of the Champions League.

The biggest problem at Old Trafford is the club’s lack of identity and style of play. Even if that doesn’t improve in Ten Hag’s third season at the club, the manager is making it harder for himself to keep his job.

Two defeats in the opening three games of the season, including a 3-0 home defeat to rivals Liverpool, have made life more difficult for the Man United manager.
