Post MLB All-Star Break; Former Mountaineer Victor Scott II Season Update

After Victor Scott II had a dream start to the season in March by opening the season with the St. Louis Cardinal, the first half of the year didn’t quite go as planned for the outfielder.

Scott never quite got his feet under him in the batter’s box or in the field while playing for the Cardinals. In 21 games played and 59 total plate appearances, Scott had five hits and two RBI for a .085 batting average. He did, however, show flashes of speed as he stole two bases and scored six runs in the limited times he did reach base.

The former Mountaineer also made several mistakes on the field and after some time it was decided to send Scott back to the minor leagues just before the MLB All-Star break.

Scott was selected fifth-round by the Cardinals in 2022 and will no longer play in Triple-A for the Memphis Redbirds, hoping to earn a spot on the MLB roster.
