Porsche takes brutal action against ambassador Emma Raducanu

Emma Raducanu has reportedly had a Porsche supercar “taken away” from her after failing to fully live up to expectations.

Following her historic win at the 2021 US Open, when the Briton became the first-ever qualifier to win a Grand Slam, it didn’t take long for her to sign sponsorship deals with some of the most luxurious and prestigious brands in the world, such as Dior, Tiffany and Co., etc.

Although her endorsement deal with Porsche didn’t come as early as some others, it still came six months after her big success – in March 2022. As a reward, Raducanu was gifted a 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, which is worth about $165,000.

“Emma no longer has a Porsche. They took it back. It had pride of place in her home,” her co-worker told The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden.

Why did it happen to Raducanu?

According to the insider, the German automaker tends to do this in cases where they don’t feel like they’re getting as much from an ambassador as they should.

“A source who works in the sponsorship industry tells me that Porsche is known for the speed with which it withdraws its vehicles from celebrity ambassadors when it does not feel it is getting value for money,” Eden wrote.

However, this does not mean that Raducanu’s sponsorship deal has been suspended. Instead, she remains part of the Porsche family.

“Although we occasionally lend Emma a car, this is mainly on an ad hoc basis,” said the car manufacturer’s spokesperson.

Since becoming a Slam winner, Raducanu has not won any more titles, but she has also struggled with serious injuries and that has caused some of her inconsistent and poor results.

But this year she has avoided serious physical setbacks and the general belief is that she has improved.

Raducanu often preached patience this season, emphasizing that she believes in the process and that she will eventually get to where she wants to be if she continues to do good work.
