October 14

4:14 p.m.: Dispatch has received a complaint about an intermittent outage on M-33 North. The vehicle was located and a traffic stop was conducted. A 63-year-old Gaylord man was arrested for operating under the influence. The subject was taken into custody and booked into the Alpena County Jail.

9:07 PM: MCSO received a transferred call from Detroit Police regarding a possible missing male subject traveling north for a hunting camp. After speaking with several parties, the report was transferred to the relevant jurisdiction.

October 15

7:40 a.m.: An officer responded to a dispute between a father and son. The parties were separated for the day.

8:18 a.m.: The Hillman Fire Dept responded to the Dollar General for the smell of burning plastic. The cause of the smell was determined because the oven started up for the first time this year. All units were evacuated at 8:39 am

11:40 a.m.: An officer received a complaint about an individual stealing a VA disability check and cashing it. The complaint is still being investigated.

October 16

04:50 A driver in Albert Township reported a vehicle-deer accident. A report has been drawn up.

October 18

7:18 a.m.: An employee arrived at a Hillman business to find the back door open. An officer responded and searched the building. It turned out to be empty and nothing was taken.

12:47 p.m.: An officer was called to The Caring Place in Atlanta for an assault. The suspect had already left before the officer arrived. A woman suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital. The incident is still under investigation.

4:45 p.m.: Dispatch received a road rage complaint from a woman traveling on the M-32 from Alpena to Gaylord. The suspect vehicle was located and a male subject was issued a citation for an expired license plate.

7:26 p.m.: A Briley Township resident was driving along the road and came across two colts in the roadway. The owner was contacted and confirmed that the horses are hers.

8 p.m.: A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Hillman Township; a report has been drawn up.

8:05 p.m.: A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Briley Township; a report has been drawn up.

8:42 p.m.: An Albert Township resident became concerned about a possible suspicious person after hearing a neighbor’s dog barking for an extended period of time. An officer patrolled the area and found no suspicious persons.

8:51 p.m.: Deputies responded to an altercation at a business in Briley Township. Upon arrival, both male subjects were separated. The altercation turned out to have been verbal and the officers were acquitted.

October 19

2:56 p.m.: Hillman Fire/EMS and Atlanta DNR Fire responded to a grass fire on Behring Rd. The fire was quickly extinguished and the units were evacuated by 3:30 p.m.

4:34 PM: Hillman Fire/EMS, Tri Township Fire and Atlanta DNR Fire responded to a brush fire on Brown Rd. Residents in the area were evacuated. A home was lost in the fire. All units cleared the scene at 9:04 PM.

7:48 p.m.: A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Hillman Township; a report has been drawn up.

9:27 p.m.: A deputy responded to a commercial burglar alarm at a business in Hillman Township. The deputy walked the area and found the building secure.

10:27 p.m.: MSP troops responded to a report of an accident at a business in Lewiston. The complainant’s car was hit in the parking lot and the other party drove away.

10:30 p.m.: A vehicle/deer accident was reported in Briley Township; a report has been drawn up.

11:56 p.m.: A deputy responded to a home invasion alarm in Loud Township. The residence was safe.

October 20

2:53 p.m.: Dispatched received a complaint of a stolen black enclosed trailer from a home on Canada Creek Ranch. The investigation is ongoing.

3:02 a.m.: DNR Conservation Officer responded to a home on Culver Road for an injured goose.

6:41 p.m.: MCSO received a complaint of an intoxicated man at a Hillman business. The complainant provided a description of the vehicle the male suspect was driving and an officer conducted a traffic stop. A 60-year-old man was arrested for operating under the influence and booked into ACJ.
