Police arrest Wilkes-Barre attack

WILKES-BARRE, PA – An assault was reported in Wilkes-Barre on October 17 involving 45-year-old Alex Vigo of Hanover Township and a 39-year-old victim from Wilkes-Barre.

The incident happened at 12:55 p.m. on South Main Street. Officers arrived after being dispatched to the South Main Plaza, where they made contact with the victim.

According to the victim, Vigo approached her, made a threatening comment and tried to hit her with a folding bat. She protected herself by blocking the attack with her arm, and Vigo then fled the scene.

The victim told officers that Vigo was a former roommate she had evicted. Vigo was subsequently found and taken into custody near 15 South Main Street, transported to city headquarters for treatment and held for arraignment.
