Police are looking for suspect in metal pipe attack

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Police say a man has been hospitalized after being attacked with a metal pipe outside Matt Talbot Kitchen and Outreach in Lincoln.

The incident took place around 3:30 PM on October 19. The victim told officers he was sitting outside the outreach center when he noticed a man acting belligerent toward others. According to police, the victim confronted the man, which led to the assault. The suspect allegedly struck the victim several times with a metal pipe, causing the victim’s hand to break and requiring hospital treatment.

According to the victim, the suspect arrived on a black mountain bike with a green string attached to the seat.

In an unrelated case, Lincoln is asking Crime Stoppers for help identifying a woman involved in a disturbance at the U-Stop near 13th and South streets on October 16. Police say the woman went into the gas station, filled two cups with slushies and tried to pay for them as a soda. When confronted by the cashier, she reportedly became angry, swore at the cashier and threw the drinks off the counter, causing them to spill.
