Polaris Announces New Partnership with Venum

Top professional grappling promotion Polaris has just announced a brand new partnership with Venum for their upcoming events. While Polaris is currently the biggest promotion in Europe and one of the biggest in the world, the new deal with Venum is a huge step forward for them. Venum is currently the official sponsor of the UFC, making every pair of shorts and rashguard tops worn inside the octagon since 2020. While that deal has only been around for a few years, it’s clearly working out well, as they’ve agreed to an extension until at least 2029.

While Venum has become known as an MMA brand in recent years, they have always had a foot in the BJJ world as well. They have sold various gis and rashguards over the years, but have never gone so far as to partner with a professional grappling promotion until now. This has brought the brand much further into the sport, and given their extensive reach, it is likely that it will bring Polaris to a wider audience as well. It isn’t hard to see how the two companies could have crossed paths, however, given that Polaris currently streams on UFC Fight Pass and Venum’s aforementioned relationship with the UFC brings them closer together.

It’s not yet clear what exactly the Venum and Polaris partnership will entail, but a branded apparel item seems like the most likely option. Given the nature of professional grappling, it seems highly unlikely that Polaris will ever follow the UFC’s business model and require competitors to wear Venum apparel. The majority of grapplers who fight for Polaris will only sign for single bouts, and they most likely already have their own sponsors to wear on the mats. However, Polaris has been signing more and more exclusive contracts with competitors in recent months, so it’s possible that Venum could become involved in some way.

Venum announced their new collaboration with Polaris in a recent post on their official Instagram account:
