Pokémon TCG Pros Predict These 3 Decks Will Dominate Worlds 2024

Each Pokémon TCG deck has a chance to become great, but when you’re competing in the Pokémon World Championships, pros know that deck choice can make or break your entire season.

The 2023/2024 season will have one of the healthiest metagames in Pokémon history, with just under a dozen decks reaching the top eight throughout the year. Heading into Worlds, there’s a chance for every deck to make it to the top, but some are better than others. Pokémonn-TCG Professional players have highlighted three decks that they expect to perform well at the World Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii, from August 16-18, and which ones they plan to use.

“From my NAIC experience, Gardevoir feels like the perfect deck to bring to Worlds,” Rose Gregon, a British TCG player heading to Hawaii, told Dot Esports. “With enough adjustment to the new top decks, Charizard and Regidrago, I’m confident Gardevoir can beat anything.”

Gregson continued by saying that they expected “Regidrago to be the most popular and dominant deck at Worlds” and that, heading into Worlds, they “expect a lot of good players to pick up the deck and make deep runs.”

Adam Hawkins, another top TCG player who lives in the UK, agreed with one of those three, expecting Charizard to dominate in Honolulu when push comes to shove.

“I always don’t know what deck to play until a few hours before a tournament, so I have to pick multiple,” Hawkins told Dot. “My main choice right now would be the Charizard/Pidgeot/Dusknoir deck. The deck is very consistent and with the new Dusknoir evolution line it’s very versatile, so it feels like the safest choice for the World Championships.”

In short, Gardevoir ex, Charizard ex, and Regidraco Lost Box are the three decks that some Pokémon TCG pro players expect to see dominate. No one mentioned the very popular Raging BoltOgerpon ex-deck that even won the NAIC 2024 Seniors title, so we’ll have to wait until August 18th to see whose prediction was correct.
