Pikes or Bust Rodeo Parade: What to Know, Where to Park | News

The 81st annual Pikes Peak or Bust Parade returns to downtown Colorado Springs Saturday morning to celebrate the region’s western heritage and kick off the NFR Open at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo, which begins next week.

According to the event organizers, visitors can expect riding clubs, horse-drawn carriages, floats and other western and rodeo themed participants. Hundreds of people and horses are expected.

The free parade starts at 10:00 am and makes its way down Tejon Street from St. Vrain Street to the Pioneers Museum on Vermijo Avenue.

Lil’ Cowpokes Stick Horse Races are also held at 9am on Pikes Peak & Tejon streets. Children ages 3-8 are welcome to participate.

For special events, all-day parking is available for $5 in three nearby downtown parking garages.

Please note that there may be road closures along parade routes and on side roads on Saturday between 8am and 12pm.

About the rodeo: The NFR Open at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo begins Tuesday and runs through July 13 at the Norris Penrose Center, located at 1045 Lower Gold Camp Road. Tickets can be purchased online at pikespeakorbust.org . Prices start at $25.
