Pete Davidson and Colin Jost officially named their ferry company “Titanic 2,” years before the fallout from former friends

In a darkly comedic bit of foreshadowing, Pete Davidson and Colin Jost officially named their troubled ferry company after the most infamous maritime disaster in American history, The US Sun has learned.

The US Sun exclusively obtained the organization articles from Pete, 30, and Colin’s ferry company organization, which were filed two years before the old Saturday Night Live pals alleged the feud and feud.

The document, which was filed on January 24, 2022, five days after they won it at auction, details the basics of the company for which the decommissioned Staten Island Ferry was purchased.

The company, officially incorporated as Titanic 2 LLC, is based in New York, and the document lists accounting firm Weygandt, Nesarajah & Company as the LLC’s agent for which any lawsuit against Colin and Pete’s company could be served.

The document also clarifies that “one or more members” of Titanic 2 can control the company.

The comedians really named their venture after the Titanic tragedy of 1912, in which about 1,500 people died when the massive ocean liner collided with an iceberg and sank to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

Shortly after their purchase, the comedians’ investment came under fire when the ferry’s former captain revealed darker and more problematic aspects of the ship.

Ferry captain Kevin Hennessy, who retired in 2021, told the New York Daily News that the boat was built around the time when asbestos was being used in many building materials.

He explained that the asbestos is largely harmless until you grind or drill into it.

On top of the ship being full of toxic construction chemicals, the captain also claimed that the ship had a major cockroach problem, and that they were particularly attracted to compartments under the seats where life jackets were stored.

In addition to the major renovations and possible wipeouts the ship would require, it could take years before the boat is up to code to safely house people.

In an interview with The US Sun, Cortney Worrall, president and CEO of the Waterfront Alliance, explained that with all the red tape they will face, it could easily take five years for the floating site to be fully operational.

Colin Jost ends friendship with Pete Davidson after ten years and ‘refuses to be in the same room’ as him

They are working with comedy club owner Paul Italia and architect Ron Castellano, redesigning the boat as an entertainment venue and possibly a floating hotel.

Now that the friends’ decade-long friendship would be over, was naming their business after the Titanic a prophecy of things to come?

THE FALLOUT

One source previously told The US Sun last month that not only have Pete and Colin stopped talking, but things have gotten so bad between friends-turned-business partners that the Weekend Update host is now refusing to even appear on 30 Rock to be where Saturday Night Live is held. recorded when the younger comedian is there.

Pete Davidson’s rehab stints

Pete first went to rehab in 2017 when he was diagnosed with BPD and PTSD.

In 2019, he entered Sierra Tucson Treatment Center in Arizona.

The comedian underwent treatment at another mental health facility in June 2023.

Most recently, he went back to rehab in late July 2024.

A source revealed that Pete had left the facility after just a few weeks.

The insider said Colin, 42, “can’t be in the same building, let alone the same room, as Pete” after “something big” reportedly happened.

The insider said that “Colin doesn’t want to be associated with Pete.”

The situation has also caught the attention of Saturday Night Live executives, according to the insider, who claimed that Pete won’t be invited back to the show anytime soon.

A representative for the show denied this claim to The US Sun.

Pete was on the show from 2014 to 2022 and was invited back as a presenter in 2023.

The two met ten years ago when Pete joined the SNL cast and the pair bonded over their Staten Island roots.

However, things have changed, with the insider claiming that “Colin doesn’t want to be associated with Pete.”

While it’s unclear exactly what impact the break will have on the company, the ship was finally officially put into service for the first time when Tommy Hilfiger hosted their New York Fashion Week show on board.

However, while Pete was not present at the ship’s first party, it was Colin who appeared at the NYFW show on September 8.

Despite the feud, a source close to the ferry deal said everything has remained intact and the vision for the ship has not sunk, despite an alleged rift.

An insider close to the ferry company played down rumors of a split.

“They are both very busy and don’t talk as much as they used to,” they said, adding that people are just moving on.

Despite claims of a comedian clash, the insider said the idea for a proposed restructuring of a decommissioned ferry into an entertainment venue remains floating.

“Where it ends up all depends on what kind of deal they can make with the city of New York,” adding that since the partners are all from the city, they hope to keep the company there.

Meanwhile, the insider close to the company added that they are in the process of raising money for projects but would not elaborate further.
