‘Perform an Exorcism on the Bell?’ After Mocking Christians, Paris Places Olympic Bell in Notre Dame Cathedral

The Paris Olympics organization has announced that a bell specially made for the 2024 Games will be placed in Notre Dame Cathedral. The bell will be used by the faithful to ring before mass, despite the fact that the organization has been accused of mocking Christianity with this year’s opening ceremony.

The 2024 Games have been widely criticized for their extensive dance, music and fashion program, which at one point appeared to include a parody of the religious painting “The Last Supper,” in which Jesus and his disciples were replaced by gay and transgender models.

Despite widely perceived anti-Christian sentiment surrounding the opening performance, authorities in Paris have donated the 1,103-pound bell, made by France’s Cornille Havard foundry, exclusively for the 2024 Olympics.

The same foundry made nine bells for the 850th anniversary of Notre Dame and restored eight after the massive fire that severely damaged the cathedral in 2019.

“A few months ago, we were approached by the Paris organizing committee to ask if we would be interested in having this bell for Notre Dame,” said Rector-Archpriest Father Olivier Ribadeau Dumas, the Catholic News Agency reported. “And we have accepted this proposal.”

The new bell will join the others and will have the task of letting the churchgoers hear the sound of the Mass at the moment of consecration.

Social media users were not happy that the Satan Olympics donated their bell to France’s most famous church.

An X user wondered if the demons would be cast out of the bell during an exorcism before he could enter the church.

Many others did the same:
