Playing alongside some of the top-ranked high school players in the country, Peak to Peak’s Alexandra Eschmeyer made her imprint on Team USA’s 85-point win on the second day of the FIBA ​​under-17 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Irapuato, Mexico.

The 6-foot-5 senior and Stanford commit had six points and six rebounds as the Americans beat Puerto Rico 121-36 Sunday in their second game in the tournament’s group phase. It came a day after they kicked off Group C with an 82-55 win against Australia.

The Americans will conclude group play Tuesday, facing Croatia at 8 pm. The game will air live on FIBA’s official YouTube channel, youtube.com/@FIBA.

“It was just incredible being out there, knowing I’m playing and competing against the best players in the world,” Eschmeyer told BoCoPreps after Sunday’s win. “I’m so grateful to be on this team. Learn and get better through this process and go for gold.”

Eschmeyer, a five-star 2025 prospect per ESPN, was one of 12 players from across the country selected for the U17 World Cup team. After the tournament’s group phase, she and the Americans will advance to bracket play, where they’ll look to reach the gold-medal game on July 21.

In three years at Peak to Peak, Eschmeyer has put up 19.9 points and 12.7 rebounds per game. Last winter, she led the Pumas to the 4A quarterfinals, shooting 56% from the field while averaging 23.5 points and 13.1 boards.
