Passimian and Oranguru Research Day Event Guide

Pokémon Go’s The Passimian and Oranguru Research Day starts on September 22 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. You can participate in the event by spinning Pokéstops during the live period. Oranguru and Passimian will only spawn via Field Research Tasks during this time.

The event marks the first time Shiny Passimian is available in Pokémon Go, nearly a year after its debut at the 2023 Pokémon World Champions in Yokohama, Japan. The event also has a number of extra bonuses for those who aren’t interested in the main Pokémon of the mini-event.

A Paid Timed Research that you can get in the store right now for $2 grants extra encounters with both Pokémon. For those who have already caught a shiny Oranguru from previous events and are only interested in the new Passimian shiny, the ticket may be worth buying if you want to speed up the process and increase your chances of getting your shiny Pokédex.

Moreover, Mankey, Aipon, Slakoth, Chimchar, and Grookey will also be getting more wild spawn encounters from 2pm to 5pm local timeOranguru and Passimian showcases will also be available at select PokéStops.
