They put together a story titled The Most Absurd Predictions for the Canucks’ 2024-25 Season and predicted some pretty insane scenarios month by month.

This takes bold predictions to the next level.

In Part I of THN Florida’s look at the totally insane 2024-25 Panthers season, we took a look at the first half of the regular season.

Now we are finalizing the schedule and preparing for the play-offs.

Here we go.

January: Panthers host surprise Stadium Series game, ice melts midway

In the NHL’s latest attempt to keep things fresh, the league decided to throw us a surprise Stadium Series game, waiting until opening night to announce that the Panthers would host Tampa Bay at loanDepot Park. It’s exactly what we were all hoping for, and unfortunately, it would end up as badly as some feared. Thanks to an unseasonably warm front, the ice quality quickly deteriorated as the stadium roof opened for puck drop.

February: Florida’s goalies get into the zone but don’t allow a single goal all month

Paul Maurice, the genius that he is, found a way to solve Florida’s early-season defensive and overly physical problems. That, combined with Sergei Bobrovsky and Spencer Knight playing in respective heats, leads to simultaneous shutout streaks that each exceed double digits. It’s historic and mind-boggling, with every goalpost and broken stick being seen as the one that walked away.

March: Bill Zito shocks hockey world, trades for Alex Ovechkin

Just when it looked like the Panthers were going to make it into the playoffs with their regular season team intact, Zito pulls a Range Rover-sized rabbit out of his hat and brings Alex Ovechkin home to the team that originally drafted him, or at least tried to.

April: Panthers close regular season with sellout of all home games, angering fans in Canada

If you didn’t know, sports fans love a winner in South Florida. Over the past few seasons, the Panthers have proven to be a team that’s going to win. A lot. And after winning a lot, they’re going to win even more in the playoffs. Local fans have taken notice, and for the first time since 1996, the Panthers are the hottest ticket in town.

Stay tuned for Part III to see how the Cats fare in the playoffs.
