Paris 2024 Olympics: Ajayi, Ashe disappoint in men’s 100m semi-final

Nigeria’s Kanyinsola Ajayi and Favour Ashe have failed to reach the final of the men’s 100 metres at the 2024 Olympic Games.

The duo hoped to make an impression during their first appearance at the Olympic Games.

Ajayi, who emerged victorious on Saturday, finished sixth in the second semi-final with a time of 10.13s.

South African Akani Simbine won the race in a time of 9.87 seconds, while Letsile Tebogo of Botswana came second in a time of 9.91 seconds.

Ashe also finished sixth in his semi-final.

The race was won by Jamaican Oblique Seville in a time of 9.81 seconds, with world champion Noah Lyles finishing second in 9.83 seconds.
