Pair of Bow Mark Oilers Begin Their Next Chapters – OkotoksOnline.com

Two Okotoks hockey players are preparing for the next phase of their illustrious careers.

Hockey Canada recently announced the roster for the U17 Team Development Camp and goaltender Carter Esler is on the list.

Esler was one of eight goalkeepers to receive the invitation, and a total of ten players from Alberta.

Last season, Esler played for the U18 AAA Bow Mark Oilers, where he won nine games.

In his previous two seasons with the U15 AAA Oilers, Esler won a total of 24 regular season games and 13 in the playoffs.

This is not the first time Esler has worn the maple leaf, as he was part of Canada’s team for the 2024 Winter Youth Olympics in Gangwon, South Korea.

He played in four games and won two, helping the Canadians finish fourth in the hockey tournament.

Last year he signed a WHL Scholarship and Development deal with the Spokane Chiefs after being drafted by the club in the first round, 22nd overall

Meanwhile, the Bow Mark Oilers are also celebrating one of their own moving up to the Junior-A ranks. Phoenix Flett recently signed a deal with Devon Xtreme, the newest franchise in the AJHL.

The Strathmore hockey product played 31 games for the Bow Mark Oilers last season, recording seven goals and eight assists for 15 points.
