Paddy Pimblett sends a message to his haters after putting King Green to sleep at UFC 304: “Everybody underestimates me, boy, just because I look like a 14-year-old girl”

Paddy Pimblett was happy to silence his haters by putting King Green to sleep on the main card of UFC 304.

Pimblett (22-3 MMA) faced perhaps the toughest test of his mixed martial arts career when he clashed with Green (32-16-1 MMA) last night in Manchester, England.

Despite posting a perfect 5-0 record in his previous Octagon bouts, many analysts and some professional fighters were convinced that ‘The Baddy’ bit off more than he could chew by taking on the 37-year-old Green.

Of course, that was not the case on Saturday night. Instead, Paddy Pimblett silenced his critics with a sensational performance that culminated in King Green falling asleep at 3:22 of the very first round.

After Green attempted a takedown, Pimblett quickly secured a guillotine choke. ‘The Baddy’ then made a beautiful transition to a triangle choke and after some adjustments, Green eventually lost consciousness (see here).

Paddy Pimblett, UFC 304, Bonus, UFC

Following his impressive performance, which earned him $200,000 in bonus money, Paddy Pimblett sat down at the UFC 304 post-fight press conference and delivered the following message to his doubters:

“Oh, it’s amazing. You can’t beat shutting some idiots up! It’s f**king brilliant. I love shutting the haters up, man. The amount of people saying, ‘He’ll never get ranked. He’ll never be good enough to get ranked. He’ll never be in the top 15,’ and stuff like that. Even fighters I’ve seen on YouTube talking shit and then just going out there and putting in a flawless performance and trashing him (it was amazing).”

When asked about Green’s decision to execute a takedown, Pimblett admitted he was surprised too:

“I was surprised he even shot. He’s had some brilliant standing fights with people like the Jim Miller fight. He stood with Jailin Turner. He went three rounds with (Rafael) Fiziev, and he won the third round and people kept talking about that leading up to this one. But everyone underestimates me, boy, just because I look like a 14-year-old girl.”

After his sensational performance at UFC 304, Paddy Pimblett went on to challenge Renato Moicano. ‘The Baddy’ also suggested that he and the Brazilian should be the coaches for the next season of TUF, as it would be “comedy gold”.
