Our Top 20 Player Countdown Continues with Tua Tagovailoa

play

Tua Tagovailoa is the franchise quarterback the Miami Dolphins hoped he would become when they selected him fifth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Tagovailoa has the NFL’s best passer rating.

Tagovailoa is the best player in the NFL in passing yards.

All Tua has to do now is lead Miami to playoff victories. The Dolphins haven’t won a playoff game in a quarter century. And no player is more important to that next step than Tua.

Why Tua Tagovailoa is No. 4

Tua, 26, was a Pro Bowl starter in 2023.

According to the coach, his superpowers are timing, anticipation and accuracy.

Tua has worked himself into great physical shape this offseason and it’s possible he could play more games in 2024. Coach Mike McDaniel also mentioned that goal after last season.

Tua is a good fit for Mike McDaniel’s high-speed passing attack, which is driven by deception and pre-snap motion. Tyreek Hill has had his best seasons with Tua, not Patrick Mahomes.

Storytelling statistics

4.624: Tua’s passing yards in 2023. He was the first Dolphin since Dan Marino in 1992 to lead the league.

How We See Tua Tagovailoa’s Future

The Dolphins see Tua as their quarterback of the future.

Tua will look to stay healthy, as he played in all 18 games for Miami last season.

Tagovailoa will continue to grow in his leadership role. He is the face of the organization. And to some extent, the face of the entire city of Miami.
