Ollie Gordon II Named Walter Camp Preseason All-American

STILLWATER – Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II earned a prestigious preseason honor this week by being named a Walter Camp Preseason All-American, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced.

Ollie was one of 16 players on the preseason list to earn All-America status after the 2023 season.

You can view the full list here.

Also part of the release was an announcement that the Players to Watch list for the upcoming 2024 Walter Camp Player of the Year award will be released on Monday, August 5. Expect Ollie to be among the players named.

What is unfortunate about this honor from the Walter Camp Football Foundation, however, is how it was overshadowed by Gordon’s DUI arrest early Sunday morning. The news was not written up by OSU Athletics media relations, nor was it spread via social media.

Gordon, who is 20, was caught weaving out of his lane on Interstate 35 just north of Norman on Sunday morning around 2:30 a.m. and was pulled over for driving 82 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. The arresting officer smelled alcohol, which led to a search of the vehicle and the discovery of two open containers of alcohol. The affidavit lists the following charges: DUI under 21, transportation of an open container of alcohol, failure to remain in lane, and driving 15-20 mph over the speed limit.
