Offside: Man Utd’s pursuit of Zirkzee intensifies as Milan watch

As the hours pass, it looks like Manchester United will beat AC Milan in the battle for Joshua Zirkzee’s signature. According to one report, this is a very frustrating occurrence.

In recent weeks, Zirkzee’s signature has attracted a lot more interest, and Milan have seemingly managed to stay at the top of the selection list throughout. However, the train derailed when he was paid a commission of €15 million.

Attempts are being made to find solutions, but the chances of this happening are slim, as neither the Rossoneri nor Kia Joorabchian want the number offered to be changed.

As stated by Caught Offside (via Milan News), the ties between the Dutchman and the Red Devils are quickly “intensifying” and are coming “very close” to signing the Bologna striker. Additionally, it is reported that Dan Ashworth’s involvement in the deal once he joins Manchester United will create additional contact with Joorabchian as they look to complete a deal.

Of course there is still time to reach an outcome with Milan getting their man, it is the mercato after all. However, at this point the odds are getting very slim, and it would be expected if any optimism faded.
