Not surprised to see him leaking runs, Salman clashes with Pakistan’s Rauf

Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt said he is not surprised that Haris Rauf is leaking a lot of runs, stating that the express bowler “doesn’t look at his pitch and bowls accordingly”.

Rauf has been criticized for giving away too many runs in the past even though he does get wickets.

The 30-year-old was one of Pakistan’s best bowlers in the 2024 T20 World Cup, claiming seven wickets in four matches at an average of 14.42 and an economy rate of 6.73.

Despite this, Salman noted that Rauf needs to work on ensuring he doesn’t concede as many points as it will make it harder for the men in green to chase scores or defend a total.

“It is no surprise that he has conceded so many runs because he does not look at his pitch and bowls accordingly,” he said Cricket Pakistan.

Pakistan suffered back-to-back losses to the United States of America and India in the T20 World Cup before fighting back to beat Canada and Ireland.

However, their triumphs were in vain as they were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament.
