Woman left with injuries after a collision in Co Antrim

A woman has suffered potentially life-changing injuries after a collision in Martinstown. The woman, in her 30s, was hit by a van as she walked along Glenravel Road on Saturday. A 25-year-old man who was questioned about the collision has been released on bail to allow further investigations.

Woman victim of sexual assault in Londonderry

A woman was subjected to what police have described as a “frightening sexual assault” in Londonderry. The woman, in her 50s, suffered facial injuries after the attack on Lecky Road at 1.15am on Sunday morning. The suspect is described as a white man, with a broad build and dark hair.

Murdered police officers commemorated at the dedication of a memorial quilt

An exhibition of memorial quilts in memory of those murdered during The Troubles has been put on display at a memorial service at Down Cathedral in Downpatrick. The exhibition consisted of patches representing both Protestant and Catholic victims. They have been developed by a team of volunteers within the South East Fermanagh Foundation. The service was attended by several hundred people.

Larne suffer a shock defeat to Portadown

Larne’s recent poor form continued on Sunday afternoon. The defending champions lost 2-1 to Portadown. Shay McCartan scored the winner for the ‘Ports’ with just a few minutes to go. The result leaves both sides in the bottom half of the table.

Newbridge secures Derry Senior Football Championship final

Newbridge shocked Glen when he secured the Derry Senior Football championship on Sunday. A stoppage time winner from Ciaran Brooks gave Newbridge their first senior football title in 35 years. Meanwhile, Enniskillen Gaels and Erne Gaels will play again in the Fermanagh decider after finishing eight points apiece. Scotstown secured the Monaghan title by beating Clontibret 1-10 to eight points.
