Noah Robinson becomes next NFL player to leave NEC

On Wednesday, July 24th, the NEC held its 2024 football media day. As a member of the Sports Broadcasting Club, I was fortunate enough to attend this media day. As I was waiting on the sidelines to talk to some players, I turned around and found myself face to face with two players from Robert Morris University. Jamar Shegog and Noah Robinson.

I could immediately feel the vibes from both of them, with Shegog seeming like a very calm and smart person. Someone who is clearly tactical and sharp in his decision making. Shegog is in his third degree and is looking forward to life outside of football.

Noah Robinson was the opposite. Noah Robinson lives and breathes football. I asked him why he transferred to RMU. He told me it was purely for football. School is not part of his mindset. His whole goal is to find himself in the NFL. When I asked Shegog if people who think like Robinson are normal, he told me, “He’s special. Not just in the way he thinks. He’s a special football player. There’s not many talents like him.” Robinson broke the all-time school and conference record for receptions. He was first team all Big South and led his league in receiving yards in his redshirt sophomore season.

Now in his junior year, he was voted the top returning wide receiver in the NEC and the 16th wide receiver in the FCS in the preseason. With his physical skills and ability, combined with the confidence and bravado with which he carries himself, Noah Robinson will be on your team’s draft boards. He is a textbook example of a hard-working guy who has improved dramatically as a player with potential. Expect big things from Robinson next season as he learns himself and finds his true ceiling.
