Nikola Vucevic on DeMar DeRozan’s departure: He was very well-liked in the locker room, everyone felt drawn to him

On last season’s shooting dip to 29.4% from 3-point range: Nikola Vucevic: I worked hard on it all summer to see if there was something with my mechanics that I wasn’t doing right or what was going on from that standpoint. I think there are things that I could have done better, so I worked on it, a lot of reps like always. I’m sure last year I was also thinking too much about shots and so shots that I would normally make, if you think too much you start missing those too. So when the season started I tried to put the last one behind me and just move on and it’s a new season, everything new, try to shoot better and play better and see how it goes. But I think last year was just a mix of things and you try to figure it out and sometimes you think too much to do this and that. In the summer it went well and hopefully it continues to go well. It’s obviously a big thing because if you can step out there now as a big guy and shoot 3’s at a good percentage, it changes everything for you, the team, and everyone. So it’s definitely something I want to improve on. -via marcstein.substack.com / September 6, 2024
