Niclas Fullkrug completes medical ahead of upcoming move to West Ham

German striker Niclas Fullkrug has completed his medical at West Ham before leaving Borussia Dortmund for the stadium in London, according to Fabrizio Romano.

A new era is dawning for the Hammers with Julen Lopetegui as new manager after David Moyes left at the end of last season.

West Ham have made a number of signings to bolster their squad after missing out on European football last season by finishing ninth.

The Hammers have signed wingers Luis Guilherme and Crysencio Summerville, while centre-back Max Kilman and goalkeeper Wes Foderingham have also joined the club.

West Ham are known to be in the market for a striker. After Aston Villa rejected a bid for Jhon Duran, they turned their attention to Fullkrug. The Germany international is set to complete his move to the Premier League.

Romano reported that the 31-year-old player has completed his medical and will sign his contract on Monday.

He took over X.com and said:

“Niclas Füllkrug has completed all the necessary medical tests at West Ham! Deal confirmed. Contract signing on Monday and then time to make the deal official. The deal is valid until June 2027 plus option until 2028.”

West Ham are reportedly paying Dortmund around £27million for the striker and hope the German can solve some of their goalscoring problems.

The Hammers were heavily reliant on Jarrod Bowen’s goals last season, while Michail Antonio is not exactly a top scorer. The club will be hoping Fullkrug can make a difference.

Fullkrug only joined Dortmund from Werder Bremen last summer, but he now leaves after scoring 15 goals and providing ten assists in 43 games last season.

The striker also has an excellent record at international level, having scored 13 goals in 21 appearances for the German national team and scored twice in five games at Euro 2024.
