Nick Kyrgios is opening up about the mental health issue he’s been dealing with lately

Nick Kyrgios is opening up about his mental health again as the Australian tennis star reveals he suffers from imposter syndrome.

Before very serious knee and wrist injuries, the now 29-year-old looked like one of the best players in the game, having reached the Wimbledon final that year and racked up several top-10 wins. That same year, he also became a Grand Slam champion after winning the Australian Open men’s doubles title with his friend Thanasi Kokkinakis. It should be noted that he is also one of the rare players who has managed to score a victory against every member of the Big Three company.

While sidelined, Kyrgios has worked very successfully in tennis broadcasting and also hosts a podcast, which he launched in partnership with Naomi Osaka’s production company. So far his guest list has included some very big names from sports, but also outside of tennis – Novak Djokovic, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, boxing icon Mike Tyson, etc…

He is also co-owner of the Australian basketball team South East Melbourne Phoenix and has just signed a deal to become an ambassador for Stryda brewery.

Kyrgios reveals he is struggling with imposter syndrome

“Sometimes I have a bit of imposter syndrome when I look at the things I’ve been able to do in my career. When I look at the people I’ve been able to get on my podcast… I know I always have a can of Stryda with me me on my podcast and show it to the biggest actors and biggest names in the world that it’s going to be super successful because I can take it to a global audience,” the 2022 Wimbledon finalist told News Corp, as revealed on The Daily Mail.

If someone is struggling with imposter syndrome, he or she may have doubts about their skills and achievements and find it difficult to accept that their success was not a coincidence, but a product of their work and quality.

Meanwhile, it was confirmed a few days ago that Kyrgios wants to make his long-awaited return in early 2025 in January.
