New Orleans Saints cornerback Marhson Lattimore has reportedly drawn interest from NFL teams ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported that the Saints have fielded calls regarding the four-time Pro Bowler’s availability and that the hamstring injury that will sideline him for Week 9 hasn’t stopped franchises from pursuing him.

“According to league sources, the Saints have received calls regarding Marshon Lattimore,” Schefter wrote. One of the potential obstacles to a deal is Lattimore’s health, sources said. The four-time Pro Bowl cornerback won’t play Sunday against the Panthers, but it won’t stop teams from making calls about him, including the two-time defending champion Chefs. ”

Lattimore played seven games for New Orleans this season, totaling 30 tackles and two pass deflections. He has 15 career interceptions, five forced fumbles and 405 total tackles in his eight-year career, spending his entire career with the Saints.

With New Orleans currently 2-6 and needing a complete momentum shift to reach the postseason, recouping draft capital for Lattimore could be an intriguing option. He is under contract through 2026 but has a contract extension after the 2024 season. Lattimore had a cap hit of $14.6 million at the start of the season.

Needless to say, a corner of his experience could be a solid boost for a team looking to shore up the secondary for a potential Super Bowl run. While he may need some time to recover from the hamstring problem, his playoff experience and proven skills make him an attractive option, especially for a team like the Chiefs who can afford to be patient at 7-0 -start.
