NFL trade rumors: 10 more players likely to be traded by the 2024 deadline

The NFL trade deadline for the 2024 season (Tuesday, November 5 at 4:00 PM ET) is almost here and with it the rumors and deals will end. It was a more active midseason hot stove than expected, with 10 veterans traded, including wide receivers Davante Adams, Amari Cooper and DeAndre Hopkins.

The Titans have been the top selling teams thus far, with the Chiefs, Seahawks and Vikings leading the buying teams.

Here we look at the 10 most likely remaining players on the trade block to be moved into the second half of ’24.

NFL trade rumors 2024: Players most likely to be traded

Za’Darius Smith, EDGE, Browns (age: 32)

Smith was a valuable veteran presence opposite Myles Garrett and has had some versatility in his schemes since his days with the Packers and Ravens. The Lions or 49ers should try to make this happen to improve their NFC chances.

Robert Spillane, LB, Raiders (age: 28)

Antonio Pierce may not want GM Tom Telesco to part ways with his linebacker leader, but the team needs to re-sign Divine Deablo to the second level and move this older free agent. The Bills should be the leading candidates.

Jonathan Jones, CB, Patriots (age: 31)

Jones is the best asset the team has among free agents and could give another team a starter. Landing in Minnesota with Brian Flores or Baltimore with Zach Orr would make the most sense.

Sebastian Joseph-Day, DT, Titans (age: 29)

The Titans aren’t moving Jeffery Simmons, but after dealing Hopkins and linebacker Ernest Jones, they need to move another veteran to stock up on picks for their rebuild. Joseph-Day could return to San Francisco to help the 49ers’ rotation.

Miles Sanders, RB, Panthers (age: 27)

He won’t be needed behind Chuba Hubbard, while rookie Jonathon Brooks is set to return. Sanders would be a cheap way to get veteran backup help for the Chargers or Shane Steichen’s Colts.

Brandin Echols, CB, Jets (age: 27)

Echols did a fine job of filling the role of Michael Carter in sub-packages with Sauce Gardner and DJ Reed. With Reed due to be re-signed and Echols also a pending free agent, the latter could help another team with slot coverage.

Mike Williams, WR, Jets (age: 30)

While there’s a weird rumor that the Jets could trade Davante Adams again, moving Aaron Rodgers’ least favorite target makes more sense. The Steelers and Buccaneers should be most interested in his field stretching and red zone skills.

Calais Campbell, DT, Dolphins (age: 38)

Campbell’s name has been late in the trade rumors, but the future HOF pass rusher and run stopper is no stranger to rotating teams, having played for the Cardinals, Jaguars, Ravens and Falcons before his final stint in Miami, where he played in college . His name has come up most as a key figure for the 49ers,

KJ Osborn, WR, Patriots (age: 27)

The veteran can help numerous teams, including the Steelers, Buccaneers, 49ers and Texans. He has more reliable floor potential than younger receiver Tyquan Thornton.

Chase Young, EDGE, Saints (age: 25)

Young can get to the quarterback, but overall the 2020 No. 2 overall pick remains disappointing with all-around play. It didn’t work in Washington or San Francisco, where he was traded last season. The Lions could settle for him performing better under Aaron Glenn, once an assistant under current Saints coach Dennis Allen.
