According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, several NFL teams have been looking at a possible trade for New York Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

The Jets have heard from some of these teams but “have no intention of trading Wilson,” sources told Schefter.

New York acquired Davante Adams in a Tuesday trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, adding the six-time Pro Bowler to a crowded wide receiver room already staffed by Wilson, Allen Lazard and Mike Williams.

Wilson has 41 catches for 399 yards and three touchdowns in six games this season.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reported Thursday that the Jets have received interest in Williams from “a number of teams” ahead of Adams’ New York debut on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers, Los Angeles Chargers and New Orleans Saints are among the teams that have inquired about Williams, Russini said.

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported the same day that the Jets are “trying to find a suitor” for Williams, who served as the team’s WR3 prior to the Adams trade.

Williams has 10 catches for 145 yards through six games in that capacity. He took 205 photos, with Wilson (369 photos) and Lazard (355 photos) taking the bulk of the workload.

His usage seemed almost guaranteed to drop further in Week 7 after veteran quarterback Aaron Rodgers publicly criticized his routing following Monday’s loss to the Buffalo Bills, making him an obvious choice for a trade.

Wilson, meanwhile, is moving in the opposite direction after allowing a season-high 23 goals in a Week 5 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He has made 41 catches for 399 yards and three touchdowns in six games.

Last year, Wilson became the first Jets receiver to reach 1,000 consecutive seasons since Keyshawn Johnson in 1999. Considering he still has a year left on his rookie contract before he gets a fifth-year club option in 2026, his value to the Jets is likely. higher than what they could get for him on the trade market, so Williams will remain the most likely trade option for the Jets heading into Week 7.
