NFL News Updates: Cooper Kupp, Isiah Pacheco injured Sunday, Justin Fields prepares to start again for the Steelers in Week 3

There are nine 2-0 teams remaining after Week 2, as the Philadelphia Eagles missed their chance to join that group after their 22-21 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on “Monday Night Football.” Among the leaders are the Saints, who can’t seem to stop scoring, and the reigning champion Chiefs, who defeated another AFC contender on the final play of the game. However, Kansas City lost running back Isiah Pacheco for the game, and his ankle injury, along with an ankle injury to Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp, are the biggest injuries to occur in Week 2 on Sunday.

The Chiefs are 2-0, and they did it the hard way, narrowly beating the Ravens on opening night and kicking a 51-yard field goal from Harrison Butker in Week 2. That win over Cincinnati, however, could hinge more on what Kansas City lost in that game.

After 19 carries for 90 yards and five catches for another 21 yards, Pacheco was forced off the field with what head coach Andy Reid described as an ankle injury.

On Sunday night, ESPN’s Jeff Darlington reported that Pacheco left the stadium on crutches and a walker. More testing will be conducted on Monday.

The Rams could be in serious trouble at wide receiver after Cooper Kupp left Sunday’s blowout loss to the Cardinals with an ankle injury. Head coach Sean McVay said Monday that Kupp will be out “for an extended period of time.” It’s unclear if he will go on the injured list or how long he will be sidelined.

However, it would be a huge blow if Kupp were to be unable to play for an extended period of time, as Puka Nacua is expected to be out for five to seven weeks due to a PCL injury.

The Steelers (2-0) expect Justin Fields to return at quarterback as Russell Wilson continues to recover from a calf injury.

“We’re preparing for Justin,” Tomlin said Tuesday. “We’re going to stay in that mindset until something happens. Hypotheticals are a waste of time.”

Through two games, Fields has thrown for 273 yards and one touchdown with a quarterback rating of 94.4.

They just happened to win the Super Bowl that year.

Running back Alvin Kamara accounted for more than half of the Saints’ points against the Cowboys on Sunday, contributing four touchdowns in their 44-19 drubbing of Dallas, and looking more like his younger self than ever.
